2020 VIRTUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY

Despite the pandemic, the Philippine Society of Pediatric Cardiology found  time to celebrate Christmas and get-in-touch with each other in a 2-part event last December 11, 2020.

Part I: On the morning of that day, there was a gift-giving activity to 100 children and 50 elderly women through the Camillian Sisters in Marikina, Rizal.  The PSPC Board led by President DR. BERNEE AZCUETA  went to the venue and distributed Christmas gifts.

Part II: On the evening (6-8pm), there was the PSPC Virtual Christmas Hat Party (via zoom).  The PSPC members were asked to wear bright, solid, Christmas colored blouses/ tops and holiday hats.  It was a night of songs in a mini-concert SINING PARA SA BAYAN  by a group of young, talented singers  who performed for the PSPC members for free.  Instead of the usual exchange gifts, members with generous hearts were enjoined to give donations; proceeds of which were given to the victims of Ulysses typhoon in Tuguegarao.

PSPC’s beautiful songbird DR. MARINELLA FRACISCO- MALLARI sang “Pasko na, Sinta Ko”.  Theater actress and singer MS. TEETIN VILLANUEVA, daughter of DR. NING VILLANUEVA sang a lively Christmas song “Kumukutikutitap!”.

There was also dancing to the music LIKE IT’S CHRISTMAS by Jonas Brothers in videos prepared by the members.  Raffle of prizes added fun to the event.

The emcees were DR. GERRY ACOSTA and DR. JONNIE BOTE. DR. MAYETTE A. ALARCON, Chair of the Social Committee, was the main coordinator of this event.
