PSPC’s AU GAMPONIA IS IN PHA BOARD

During the recent on-line annual elections of the Philippine Heart Association conducted last May 2021,  the lone candidate of the PSPC DR. AURORA S. GAMPONIA, won a seat at the Board.

Dr. Gamponia is a Fellow of the Philippine Pediatric Society (PPS),  Philippine Society of Pediatric Cardiology (PSPC) and the Philippine Society of Echocardiography (PSE).  

She was a Past President of the PSPC (2008 – 2010), Past President of the PSE (2019 – 2020) and Past Chair of the Specialty Board of Pediatric Cardiology (SBPC, 2017) of the Philippine College of Cardiology.  She was a Past Chair of the PHA Council on Congenital Heart Disease from 1995 –  1996.  She has been a member of the faculty of past and present annual conventions of the PHA, PSPC and PSE.   She was an Associate Professor III at St. Luke’s College of Medicine  from 1997 to 2019.

Currently, she is the Department Manager III of the  Department of Pediatric Cardiology at the Philippine Heart Center.  She is a

Member of the Board of the Philippine Society of Critical Care Medicine, Treasurer of the Heart Failure Society of the Philippines and Member of the Joint Committee on Accreditation of the Philippine Society of Echocardiography.

She is a Member of the Consultant Staff at the St. Luke’s Medical Center and a visiting consultant Staff:  V. Luna General Hospital, AFP Medical Center.

She was awarded the 2015 Model Medical Consultant, PRAISE at the Philippine Heart Center, 2017 Distinguished Service Award by the Philippine Society of Pediatric Cardiology and the 2018 Distinguished Teacher Award by the Philippine Heart Center-Medical Alumni Society.

The new officers of the PHA are: President- DR. GILBERT VILELA, Vice-President – DR. JUDE ERRIC CINCO, Secretary – DR.  RONALD CUYCO (Secretary), Treasurer-DR.  RODNEY JIMENEZ, Members of the Board- DR. WALID AHMAD AMIL, DR. AURORA GAMPONIA and DR. RICHARD HENRY TIONGCO II, and DR. ORLANDO BUGARIN- Immediate Past President.

They were inducted during the closing ceremonies of the convention last May 28, 2021.

As our very own DR. AURELIA  LEUS, PSPC Past President for 2019 – 2020, gracefully finishes her term at the PHA Board, Dr. Gamponia enters to represent us. Truly a great victory for the PSPC!!!
