Turnover Ceremonies and Induction of Officers 2020 – 2022

Last October 30, 2020, the first virtual induction of the incoming PSPC officers for 2020 – 2022 and turnover ceremonies followed after the PSPC General Assembly and Annual Meeting.    The event  started with a message delivered by the President of the Philippine Heart Association DR. ORLANDO BUGARIN.  This was followed by the Valedictory Speech of the outgoing PSPC President DR. NINFA J. VILLANUEVA.

Dr. Villanueva then presented certificates of appreciation to DR. MAGDALENA LAGAMAYO, (Chair of the Committee on Elections and Nominations who spearheaded the first-ever on-line elections of the PSPC) and the outgoing Board.

This was followed by an inspirational speech by the Founding President of the PSPC, DR. WILBERTO L. LOPEZ who also was the Inducting Officer of the new PSPC Board composed of DR. MARIA BERNADETTE A. AZCUETA (President),  DR. JUAN G. REGANION (Vice-President), DR. REGENTE I. LAPAK (Secretary), DR. MARTHA SOCORRO M. SANTIAGO (Treasurer), DR. JULIET J. BALDERAS  (Board Member), DR. MARIA ESTRELLITA A. ALARCON (Board Member) and DR. N. J. VILLANUEVA (Immediate Past President).

The turn-over ceremonies included passing on of the gavel (symbolizes commitment), medallion (symbolizes leadership and authority ) and the society’s banner (symbolizes duties and responsibility) by outgoing President Dr. Villanueva to in-coming President Dr. Azcueta.  Dr. Azcueta then gave her acceptance speech followed by awarding of plaques of appreciation to Dr. W. Lopez as Inducting Officer and to Dr. N. Villanueva for her service rendered as President of the society for the past two (2) years.

The evening ended with a short talk by the new PSPC Vice-President Dr. J. Reganion. CONGRATULATIONS to the new officers!!!
