The new business started with Treasurer’s Report given by DR. MARIA RONELLA FRANCISCO-MALLARI.  She reported that from 2018 to 2020, there was 37.76 % and 37.74% increase in the society’s equity and assets, respectively.  The increase was mainly from the 7th annual postgraduate course, outreach CME activities (PEDIA CARDIO ON WHEELS) and fundraising activities (PETA plays Rak of Aegis and Tagu-taguan, Nasaan ang Buwan?).  The society was likewise able to donate to the community, such as the typhoon victims in Bicol, earthquake victims in Mindanao and the Taal volcano eruption victims.  For the year 2019 – 2020, some planned activities were cancelled because of the COVID pandemic, so there was a 41.8 % decrease  in  revenue but there was also a 37.69 % decrease in expenses.  Nevertheless, there was a 17.57 % increase in equity and 17.58 % in assets for the past year.

In her President’s report, Dr. N. Villanueva gave a brief summary of the activities of the society followed by a video presentation with the music If We Hold On Together (sung by Ms. TEETIN VILLANUEVA).

The amendments to the society’s  Bylaws and Rules and Regulations were then presented by DR. JUAN REGANION (PSPC Secretary and Chair of the Committee on Bylaws).  Among the amendments which was discussed and approved by the body was the re-classification of Regular members to  the status of Diplomates and Fellows as mandated by the Philippine Pediatric Society. Since the discussions on the amendments were not completed, there are plans to hold special meetings in the future for the unfinished matters in order to accomplish ratification of all the amendments.

The meeting was followed by the turnover ceremonies and induction of the new set of officers for 2020 – 2022.
