PSPC joins PHA in 2020 Annual Convention

The Philippine Society of Pediatric Cardiology (PSPC) joins the 51^st Annual Convention and Scientific Sessions of the Philippine Heart Association in its 27^th Annual Meeting and 8^th Biennial Convention to be held on May 26 to 29, 2020 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel in Mandaluyong City with the theme: “NEXT LEVEL STRATEGIES”.

As of February 27, 2020, the scientific program includes the following:

On May 26, the pre-convention sessions include sessions on Sports Medicine and Advanced Cardiac Imaging and Travel Medicine (DR. JUSTINE IRIS C.  YAP  will talk on Advanced Cardiac Imaging:  Transition to Adulthood in Congenital Heart Disease) followed by the convocation and opening ceremonies  in the afternoon with DR. BELEN O. CARISMA as the Dr. Mariano M. Alimurung Memorial Lecturer.

On the morning of May 27, the PSPC will have its opening ceremonies (8am) followed by the 8th Dr. Evelyn Singian Memorial Lecture (8:30 am)  on “Transitioning of CHD: from childhood to GUCH to adulthood” with DR. JOEL THOMAS HARDIN of USA as speaker.  Likewise, there will be a  Dr. Homobono B. Calleja Professorial Lecture (11:30 am) on “Pitfalls in Echocardiography in Adult CHD” by DR. MA. LOURDES SR. CASAS. 

The Rheumatic Fever-Rheumatic Heart Disease (RF-RHD) Business Meeting will be at 2pm in the afternoon (Isla 1) followed by the simultaneous sessions (4:30 – 6pm) with the topics of PSPC members as follows:

• RF-RHD, IE and KD at Isla 1
  • DR. JAMES L. ANGTUACO: Infective Endocarditis, Perils of Diagnosis in Adult and Pediatric Patients
  • DR. JULIET J. BALDERAS: Kawasaki Disease after the Febrile Phase: Perils of Treatment and Long-term Follow-up
