PHA/PCC INDUCTION OF DIPLOMATES AND RECOGNITION OF COLLEGE AWARDEES 2021

The Philippine Heart Association (PHA) and the Philippine College of Cardiology (PCC) held the virtual induction of new Diplomates and recognition of College Awardees last January 14, 2021.

Incumbent PHA President DR. ORLANDO BUGARIN  together with the rest of the PHA Board which includes DR. AURELIA LEUS (PHA Immediate Past President), led  the ceremonies.

The Philippine Society of Pediatric Cardiology (PSPC) is very proud of its two (2) Emeritus Members who were among the recipients of the College Awards for this year: DR. FAY LOPEZ- CHUA for Loyalty Award and DR. TEOFILO C. CANTRE for Distinguished Service Award.

The new  Diplomates of the PCC (Pediatric Cardiology) were presented by DR. NINFA J. VILLANUEVA, the Chair of the Specialty Board of Pediatric Cardiology (SBPC) for 2019 – 2020. The members of the SBPC also present were DR. JOSE JONAS DEL ROSARIO (incoming Chair of the SBPC for 2021 to 2022), DR. EDEN D. LATOSA, DR. MARIA CONCEPCION C. SISON and DR. MA. CORAZON A. ESTEBANEZ.  

The new Diplomates of the Philippine College of Cardiology are: DR. GERARDINE C. CASI (UP-PGH), DR. ELUGEVINA C. DOMINGO (PHC), DR. CLAUDIO Q. GAYETA, JR. (PHC), DR. MARICEL JANICE G. DE GUZMAN (PHC), DR. KRISTINE ANNE F. PAGUNTALAN (PHC), DR. CATHLEEN FAYE RECAÑA-LU (UP-PGH), DR. ELISSA DYANN B. SORIANO (PHC) and DR. VINCENT M. TULIO, JR. (PHC). 

During the event, Dr. Villanueva was presented with a Plaque of Appreciation by the PHA and PCC for her service as Chairman of the Specialty Board of Pediatric Cardiology 2019 -2020. In her speech, Dr. Villanueva expressed her gratitude for the honor and privilege of having served the SBPC for the past five (5) years.
